Reflection Essay
When i started english 101 I thought I knew everything about writing and reading. I took english in high school but I didn't really understand certain vocabulary words. I got a 85% on my english regents so I figured I had a good idea of the concept. After taking Dr.Jason Smith I think I thought wrong. I needed a lot more practice than i thought. The idea of using blogger as a virtual way to joint minds of our classmates was new but very effective.I learned a lot in this class. Im definitely not the same person I was when i first came here; Mentally.
Blogger was effective because I learned how to use overcome writer's block by using the tutorials on the blog. I learned several ways to use correct grammar and vocabulary throughout an essay too. Blogger was also helpful because it made communication with classmates easier. if I had a question or a problem, I can simply ask a classmate or the professor through email or comments. Blogger was a great way to keep up with professors work, There were announcements every week and what he

Hutchinson 2
would be expecting from us the following week. It was also beneficially to learn how to use a blog. After using blogger for something as important as
english, I wouldn't mind making a blog for something insignificant. I’ll probably make a blog of poetry or just photos I like. Using blogger was just a great way to effectively be on the same page as your classmates or professor and self educate yourself with the information given, id recommend it to any teacher.
During this class I learned a lot about the fast food industry and factory farming too. The government allows the food producers to do a lot of harmful things to our food without informing us. The book Fast food nations written by Eric Schlosser explains the many stratagems fast food Pioneers used to expand the industry to what it is today. Eric Schlosser explains the evil sale motives people used to brainwash us americans to increase their sales and profits. Although the fast food industry is make millions on us worldwide, the government should help decrease obesity and health problems. Not only the government but the FDA and other importers are lying to us too. I dont know if we should blame them for our assumption of where our food should come from, but it should be obvious to them that what they're doing is harmful  not only to the animals but to the consumers.

Hutchinson 3
Factory farmers cram thousands of animals  into filthy, windowless sheds and confined to wire cages, gestation crates, barren dirt lots, and other cruel confinement systems. The animals are neglected attention and are treated so poorly just to increase profit. Im in college to be a veterinarian so I was so surprised when I found out the information. The food industry is getting away with alot and the government is letting them. However, the idea is that industries produce according to what the consumer buy so if we as the consumers stop buying the fast food or simply educate the people around us then this world would be a salubrious place.
Professor Jason smith’s English 101 class really opened my eyes with health. The government isn't going out of their way to help me stay healthy so its up to me to care about my well-being. I also learned about creating blogs and expressing myself through words. Im grateful that I took this class.

BLog #11

Factory Farming

What if you were told that you could fly to Brazil to a beautiful land  in exchange for your cooking? but instead you were sent to Brazil kidnapped, fed drugs, sexually abuse then murdered after you were saw to be no longer useful. Well people do it everyday to our food; Animals. The government has allowed factory farming to buy animals fly them across the country, unwillingly breed them, and do atrocious procedures then slaughter them. Animals such as cattle, chickens, ruminants and other farm animals have to deal with these traumatizing problems everyday. Factory farming should be banned due to its production of animal cruelty.
There are many different types of housing systems for animals depending on the species and the procedure being done for consumption. Farmers choose housing either extensively or intensively, which means outside (free-style)  or inside (confinement). Now farmers house in confinement either intensively or extensively. Factory farmers confinement at a sufficient production rate is one part of a systematic effort to produce
Hutchinson 2
the highest output at the lowest cost by relying on economies of scale, modern machinery, biotechnology, and global trade. They are crammed by thousands of other animals into filthy, windowless sheds and confined to wire cages, gestation crates, barren dirt lots, and other cruel confinement systems. They are also kept in small cages or jam-packed sheds or on filthy feedlots, often with so little space that they can’t even turn around or lie down comfortably.

One of the farm animals that have to deal with these problems are Pigs. Before the 72 hours of the piglets being born they are demanded to get their needle teeth clipped, tail docked, get their ear notched and administer iron. Because factory farming is intensive pigs are suppose to get their needle teeth clipped to prevent fighting with each other. Their tails are chopped off to prevent other pigs from biting it off. Ear notching is a horrific way factor farmers use to keep count of their piglets; by cutting of pieces of each piglets ears.(picture “A” shown on below). Pigs are also one of the animals that use gestation crates, instead they're called Farrowing crates. Farrowing crates are small (5 x 7 inch) crate the limits the mobility of female pigs during her feeding or delivery of her young. Farrowing crates has a censor that blows very cold air on the piglets when the mother stands up, to prevent the mother from moving.
Hutchinson 3
They are used to feed piglets and are very effective for confinement. This can be harmful to the animals because baby pigs are born with a low iron count and can lead to an iron deficiency if the mother doesn't mind the breeze. By two to three weeks of age, 15% of the piglets will have died from these procedures. Those who survive are taken away from their mothers and crowded into metal-barred and concrete-floored pens in giant warehouses. Pigs live in these pens until they reach 6 months of age, usually 250 pounds.Pigs aren’t allowed to provide for their piglets naturally. They are given unhealthy high protein foods to gain a lot of weight fast. Factory farming has limited a pigs access on natural essentials of life such as personal space and freedom.
Ruminants also suffer with the abuse because of factory farming. Ruminants are animals multi-chambered stomachs such as sheep, goats and llamas. Sheep are primarily used for meat but is also used for wool, milk and mohair. They are slaughtered very young from six to eight because consumers prefer lamb. Sheep and goat are tail docked to prevent from flystrike. Tail dock is simply cutting the tail off. Flystrike is when the animal’s tail isn’t cleaned after urinating or defecating, flies sit there and lay nest and causes several problems for the animal. Since factory farmers use confinement housing, it is too time consuming to simply cutting around the tail (which is what was normally done in normal farms) so
Hutchinson 4
farmers just cut the tail off. Some goats are born hornless, called a polled goat. Those arent polled are disbudded. Disbudding is a procedure the places a electric hot iron that burns the horn off and the corneal nerve around it.(Picture “B” below) This procedure is very painful for the animals. They are demanded to give the animal anaesthetics before the procedure takes place. Ruminants are disbudded to prevent them from attacking farmers and other ruminants. Another way factory farming causes animal cruelty in ruminants, is by the dipping procedure. Since factory farming uses confinement, if one animals catches something so will the others; to prevent the loss of production farmers must dip. Dipping is when farmers places the animal's entire body in a tank of insecticide to prevent from ectoparasite. According to the ieatmeat goat management page, 95% of ruminants drown from this procedure. Factory farmers do whatever it takes to increase production.
The biggest milk and meat industry comes from cattle. Cattle are Cows, Bulls and Veal. Cows used by the dairy industry are intensively confined, continually impregnated, and bred for high milk production with little concern for their well-being. Cows that are used for beef are killed within one to three years old. Veal is one of the worst treated cows. Veal is male calves that are fed poorly and lack exercise deliberately. Veal is known for being very tender meat so if it gets alot of excercise it wont be.
Hutchinson 5
Cows are also disbudded but its called debudding. Cows are milked 305 days a year and is dried off for 60 days around the time she gives birth.  In factory farming Cows are bred naturally and through artificial insemination. Artificial insemination is an artificial hormone that is implanted into the cows ear or skin to continuously breed the cow. Cows are also injected with bovine growth hormone (BGH) to increase the production of milk. Some cows die from the overproduction of milk or infection of mammary glands (utters).(Picture “C” below).Cows even go through painful procedures for labeling them. When having a confined farm its hard to differentiate animals so they use labeling such as ear tagging, branding, spectum rings (Used for bulls) and tattooing.
I understand some people believe that humans need meat to survive or just have religious reasons for why they eat meat.Yes, Meat isn't unhealthy (depending on how its made) however, there are many ways to be an ethical meat-eater.It might be a bit expensive but buying free-range eggs and chicken can make a big change. There are many vitamins that can be consumed as a meateaters such as Iron,Zinc, Magnesium and  Vitamin B12. Iron helps our bodies produce two essential proteins: hemoglobin and myoglobin. Hemoblogin delivers oxygen to your cells, and the myoglobin in muscle cells accepts and uses it.Vegetables contain iron  but consuming plants gives your body nonheme iron, a version less easily absorbed by the
Hutchinson 6
body. Heme iron is the better type that only comes from life forms with hemoglobin, such as red meat, pork, poultry, and fish. According to the World Health Organization, over 30% of the globe suffers from iron deficiency, which leads to fatigue, decreased immune function, and overall crankiness. I love animals. There are many benefits from eating meat so I'm not willing to sacrifice my happiness for theirs.Being a vegetarian isn't that effective for our health, As a consumer we all need to make conscious choices to lessen the negative effect on the animal community.

In the factory farming industry these loving and intelligent animals routinely suffer inhumane treatment throughout their lives and are gruesomely slaughtered for human consumption.Intensive housing can be very advantageous for farmers , but the ideal idea for consumers should be   Quality v.s. Quantity. Factory farmers Cut pieces of Pig’s ears to label them, Overfeed and inject drugs cows to produce more milk,Burn Ruminants horns and Pierce bulls noses; all for humans ;the consumer. I believe if the world knew what was happening to our animals they wouldn't eat the meat.

Blog #10 Topic sentence outline (Factory farming)

Possible hook:  What if you were told that you could fly to Brazil to a beautiful house of your own in exchange for your modeling? but instead you were sent to Brazil kidnapped, fed drugs, sexually abuse then murdered after you were saw to be no longer useful. Well people do it everyday to our food; Animals. The government has allowed factory farming to buy animals, unwillingly breed them, do atrocious procedures then slaughter them. Animals such as cattle, chickens, ruminants and other farm animals have to deal with these traumatizing problems everyday.
Claim: Factory farming should be banned due to its production of animal cruelty.

Main point #1: They are satiate the farms to maximize output while increasing input.
Supporting info:Animals are crammed by the thousands into filthy, windowless sheds and confined to wire cages, gestation crates, barren dirt lots, and other cruel confinement systems.
supporting ideas: factory farms typically consist of large numbers of animals being raised in extreme confinement. Animals on factory farms are regarded as commodities to be exploited for profit. They undergo painful mutilations and are bred to grow unnaturally fast and large for the purpose of maximizing meat, egg, and milk production for the food industry. Their bodies cannot support this growth, which results in debilitating and painful conditions and deformities.
Main point #2: Procedures done to animals before slaughter.
Supportive info: Animals are declawed, disbudded, Injected with Epidermal growth factor (EGF)
Suportive ideas: Animal-rich diet that is high in processed foods, saturated fats, cholesterol, and excessive protein and hormone levels - all at the high cost of deteriorating human health and a waste of natural food resources that could otherwise feed 8 billion people on this planet.

Research proposal (Blog entry #9)

Animal cruelty should be ceased.the government should support passing farm animal welfare laws, exposing consumers to how farm animals are typically mistreated, and working with retailers to improve farm animal welfare in their supply chains.Meat and dairy production in the United States has changed dramatically over the past 30 years. the assumptions of food coming from Small family farms have been replaced by huge livestock facilities, where animals suffer horribly, workers are mistreated, the environment is being destroyed, and where rural communities are falling apart. According to schlosser  factory work can be the most dangerous job.  One source used was the meatrix series (http://www.themeatrix.com). the matrix explained that not only the government but the FDA and other importers are lying to us. I dont know if we should blame them for our assumption of where our food should come from, but it should be obvious to them that what theyre doing is harmful to not only the animals but to the consumers. The factory farming industry strives to maximize output while minimizing costs—always at the animals’ expense. The giant corporations that run most factory farms have found that they can make more money by cramming animals into tiny spaces, even though many of the animals get sick and some die.when we think about where our food is coming from, we picture a pretty farm with people taking care of lovely and helpful animals. if you google a farm u see something that looks like the image above but instead they are little chambers that mistreat animals and inject them with artificial hormones. These animals will never raise their families, root around in the soil, build nests, or do anything that is natural and important to them. some difficulties  i can see my self experiences in my reseaxh paper is finding an direct response from the government.i wan a direct resonce from the government nt an interpretation

Blog #8 Midterm

Although it is a parent’s responsibility to control what their children eats, it becomes very hard when there are advertisements everywhere that are mostly directed to children. The government should help decrease illnesses and obesity in America. It can be hard for the government to tell us what to eat because some people don't like to be told what to do and it can cause the fast food  industry to flounder. To avoid interfering with the fast food industry’s success, the government shouldn’t eliminate ads completely but create ads informing children about the harm fast food is causing. It can also help to increase the amount of ads from the health departments promoting good health and wellness.
Parents should always have control of their kids, what their kids do and where their kids are, however parents can't control how often their child sees a fast food advertisement. According to Adweek News, Images of food packaging were shown in 88 percent of kids' ads versus 23 percent of adult ads and toy premiums were promoted in 69 percent of kids ads versus 1 percent of adult ads. McDonalds come up with fun  playgrounds, food packages in shape of presents and pretend like they are doing it to make people happy but in reality they are doing it to profit themselves. A parent shouldn't have to supervise their child when they're watching nickelodeon to avoid them from seeing a fast food advertisement thats giving them erroneous information or giving their kid the impression that their food is healthy.
Every time my 6 yr old niece and I are on the train and she sees an ad for McDonalds she nags constantly until I get her “her favorite” ; a kid’s meal. According to the book Selling to kids, a marketer said “ It’s not just getting kids to nag, its giving them a specific reason to ask for the product”. Schlosser further explains that the aim of most ads directed at children is to get them to nag their parents until they
get what they want. Soon enough marketers started supporting the idea, calling it “Leverage” and “Pest Power”. Pioneers also used the information in the book kids as customers, where McNeal classified the nagging tactics and in 1992 they created ads teaching kids to nag. Parents do have the option of saying no to their kids, however nagging becomes extremely annoying after a while and they eventually give in.
It can be hard for the government to make the huge decision of stopping ads for our health. On June 1,2012 NYC’s Mayor Bloomberg submitted the proposal to the NYC health department banning the sale of large sodas over 16 oz. due to the rapid increase of diabetes over the years. When most people heard the proposal they instantly disagreed saying the government shouldn’t tell us what to eat and drink. On July 30, 2013 the proposal was rejected by the state court saying the controversial regulation violates “the principle of separation of powers.”  It is very difficult for the government to regulate certain things; food is one of them. The best thing the government should do is create advertisements directed to america (especially children) informing them of the harm fast foods are causing. Stopping the fast food’s ads will decrease the fast food’s business. The best way to help both sides without violating the constitution is allowing the fast food ads, but also allowing more ads promoting healthy foods such as fruits and vegetables. When having an option, people can make their own decision.

Food is something we need to survive, parents shouldn't have to worry about their child becoming ill because of something that seems so good. Eliminating fast food ads can lead to the decrease of success in the fast food industry so the government should not control what we eat. they should allow us to make our own decision by informing us the harm fast foods can be causing us.

"The things to help our fast food nation" (Blog #7)

Not only the government but the FDA and other importers are lying to us. I dont know if we should blame them for our assumption of where our food should come from, but it should be obvious to them that what theyre doing is harmful to not only the animals but to the consumers. My claim for my essay #2 is going to focus on how society paints the wrong picture to us with factory farming ; mislead us. when we think about where our food is coming from, we picture a pretty farm with people taking care of lovely and helpful animals. if you google a farm u see something that looks like the image above but instead they are little chambers that mistreat animals and inject them with artificial hormone. my expectation is to stop animal cruelty due to factory farming. animals are being slaughtered horribly for the aspiration of success for a company. animals were born without freedom and are injected by chemicals the intentions of human consume. i can't speak for everyone but if i knew this before i wouldn't be a meat eater .the government should stop hiding these important information from us.

Brand identification (Blog #6)

There are many brands i wear, some i wear more often than others. After writing this blog i noticed now something as simple as a brand and hold a huge impact on my life.Doc Martins And Jeffrey Campbells are my two favorite brands. Doc martins have been my favorite boot for a while, Ive been wearing them for 4 years now. When i first saw Doc Martins i fell in love. Although they were simple boots they had an unique shine to them. They are extremely sturdy and cute at the same time. I remember the first time i wore them to school and a random girl asked me "where u got those black timberlands from?" I was so confused at first but then i understood what she meant. A Lot of people in my school haven't seen them before. When i notice how many people didn't know what they were i loved them more. People started calling me Docs to tease me, i think its because i have big feet but it didn't really bother me. Docs made me feel different and i loved it. About 4 years after i have 5 pairs of Doc Martins. I have the low top (polka dot), 2 high tops (Green And Black) and one velvet one (Burgundy). Now i don't only use them for fashion but i wear certain Doc according to the occasion. I love moshing is docs because they are heavy duty but i also love wear my velvet low tops at nice events because they are more sophisticated. Doc Martins have made a impact on my life without me even noticing.
Another brand i love id Jeffrey Campbell. Jeffrey was once an Olympic water polo player, he won 2 Silver Medals, 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles & in the summer of 1988 in Seoul, South Korea. Jeffrey Campbell is now known as the platform shoe god. Jeffrey makes the best looking platform shoes ever! He's so unique. He has a crazy style theta only real fashionistas can pull off. My first pair of Jeffrey Campbell's were for my sweet sixteen, after buying the $200 shoes my mom bickered at my for the rest of the day. Although i knew i would hear he complaining all day it didn't affect me, I was ensured that no one at my sweet sixteen would have them on... or even know what they are. Today I only have 2 pairs due to the price but hopefully I’ll have over 20 pairs by the age of 30. it so silly how we buy things to give us a little boost of happiness.

Blog #4 your "Trusted" friends

In this chapter “Your Trusted Friend” Eric Schlosser explains the different ways fast food chains increase sales, often targeting young customers. Walt disney and Ray Kroc were great examples of successful entrepreneur. They both used ads to increase their popularity. Walt disney used a marketing strategy called "synergy", which allows several firms to use his characters in their ads. Ray kroc also uses Walt Disney's characters as their toys. Fast food chains didn't only form marketing alliances with walt disney for his characters but they also used Hollywood studios, sports leagues and a lot others to increase their sales. Fast food pioneers competed for young costumers. Fast food pioneers spend over 3 billion dollars on television advertising, majority of them targeting children.Walt Disney, Ray Kroc and other successful fast food pioneers use synergy to increase sale but they all seem to have one thing they direct ads to;children.

Essay

One of the largest industry today is the food industry. After world war II people decided to make food faster and In california during the 1950's, the fast food industry started. The book Fast food nations written by Eric Schlosser explains the many stratagems fast food Pioneers used to expand the industry to what it is today. Eric Schlosser explains the evil sale motives people used to brainwash us americans to increase their sales and profits. The people behind the food chose to direct their unhealthy food to people that don't know wrong from right; children. Their major tactics used were targeting children, teenagers and advertisement.
At first the fast food pioneers targeted teenagers with cars. At the time the nations car industry was increasing so someone decided to make drive-in resturatnts "People with cars are so lazy they don't even want to come out of them to eat" said Jesse G. Kirby, also know as one of the first pioneers to own a drive-in restaurant. Teenagers were both consumers and workers for the business. They hired teenaged girl who would carry the trays of food from patrons to the parked cars know as carhops. Usually they wore short skirt or wore a variety of adorable costumes such as mermaids, cowgirls and majorettes. They were usually attractive, which brought a lot of teen boys to hangout there. Owners of later drive-ins competed for attention, realized that Bright neon lights attract people. They also used a variety of visual lure and decorated their buildings.
Walt Disney and Ray Kroc (CEO of McDonalds) both used tactics targeting children, who bring in their parents, who bring in money. They realized that children play a big part in our nation, so they came up with a strategy called the “cradle-to-grave”. It hopes the nostalgic childhood memories of a brand can lead to a lifetime of purchases and loyalty. According to Eric Schlosser a person’s “Brand loyalty” may begin as early as the age of two. I agree with him because I still eat McDonalds. They came to this conclusion after the 1980s when parents worked so much and had little time to spend with their children so, they effortlessly bought them thing to make them happy. They called it “the decade of the child consumer.” This had a huge impact on not only fast food pioneers but any entrepreneur. McDonalds took advantage of this; they started giving toys with every kids meal and wrapping them in a little box that looks like a present. They made McBurglar VHS and built fun playgrounds which were also examples of the innovation that McDonalds made to attract children. I remember being so happy when my parents took me to mcdonalds it felt like it was a kid’s paradise. I could play, eat and still go home to fun because I got a toy.
Advertising also had a huge impact in the the fast food epidemic. During the 1930's walt disney pioneered the marketing strategy which is now known as the synergy. Disney signed a licensing agreement to use mickey mouse on their products and their ads. After noticing the success, disney wanted more. He later used television to achieve a degree of synergy beyond anyone did in the past.He began to create a lot of television shows to promote his characters. Soon enough the fast food industry used synergy too. There were a variety of advertisements directed at children. The ads taught children different stragems into nagging their parents. They wanted children to nag..nag..nag...no matter how u do it, get what you want. Then came the internet, which was another tool to learn more about the children consumers and sell their products. according to Mr.Schlosser  about 89 perfect of websites targeting children requested personal information. On a McDonalds website children were told to send Ronald secret mail regarding what are their favorite meal on the menu.
The fast food industry is using us americans to brainwash us into buying their unhealthy foods. McDonalds, Pizza hut, and all other fast food places don't really care about what garbage they are feeding us. The come up with fun  playgrounds, food packages in shape of presents and pretend like they are doing it to make people happy but in reality they are doing it to profit themselves.

Founded fathers (Blog entry #3)

In the first chapter of "Fast Food Nation" by Eric Schlosser focuses on the history of fast food in Southern California and how the huge epidemic of fast food started. It all started with Carl N. Karcher, a fast food industry’s pioneer. He lived and grew up in upper Sandusky Ohio until his uncle offered him a job in Anaheim, California.  While in California he eventually he started selling food out of carts and which turn into fast food chain and eventually an epidemic. Fast food chains started to rise around early 1940’s. They started off with waitresses that would bring food to the parked cars, they were known as carhops. The drive-in restaurant had become popular to teenage boys who were attracted by the car scene and the young carhops.
In 1937 Richard and Maurice McDonald opened a drive-in in Pasadena selling mostly hot dogs. A few years later they opened The McDonald Brothers Burger Bar Drive-In in San Bernardino, it was a success but the McDonald's seemed to want more. In 1948 the brothers decided to close the shop to increase sales and customers. They fired all their employees, added larger grills and then reopened with a new strategy of making food; they called it the self service system. There were no more bus boys, carhops or glass dishes and an employee had a station and did only one task. Soon enough a lot of entrepreneurs started coping this technique. This is what started the epidemic of fast food.

Food effects everything in the nation

Meals play an important part to my family. Food can either make the family join together or segregate. I live with my mother and little sister. My mother is British but was raised in Trinidad & Tobago. My mother loves Trinidadian food and so does my little sister. Unlike them I prefer American food. My mother has a variety of multicultural meals she makes. she sometimes contributes her past religion (Muslim) with her and my father’s nationalities to synthesize them into a combination of deliciousness. For example, she would make Yellow rice with red beans and stew chicken with potatoes.(a mixture of Spanish and Trinidadian food),she’s never cooks pork because she grew up in a Muslim family, although she isn’t Muslim anymore she still doesn’t eat pork. When I was younger she never made pork  or allowed us to eat it so growing up I wasn’t a big fan of pork and still am.
Where we eat depends on what we are eating. Usually at 6pm my family gets together and eats at the dining room table, however if I don’t like the food, I’m not going to eat with them. My mother know what I like and what I don’t like, she knows if I don’t like what she cooks ill either make my own food or just go without food that night. Every night my mom cooks chicken feet I yell at her and tell her she’s selfish because I HATE chicken feet. the simple fact they don’t have a lot of meat on them and the thought of the filth in between their toes grosses me out. chicken feet always bring controversy our household because I refuse to eat that disgusting food with them.

Is America's food supply safe?

The Article "Is America's food supply safe?" explains why Dr. David Acheson believes America has the safest food and food supplies in the world. Dr. Acheson, the assistant commissioner for food protection and drug administration (F.D.A) says that the FDA is always working to protect food from bacterial, viral, and chemical contamination. Although there were recent condemnations such a E.Coli in Spinach and salmonella in peanut butter, Dr. Acheson doesn't seem to think our food supply is unsafe. I disagree with Dr.Acheson; I think the food we eat can be unsafe sometimes due to the FDA not inspecting accurately. If the FDA has inspectors to prevent unsafe food from foreign countries, they weren't doing their job right if there were two recent contaminations. I believe Dr. Acheson is bias considering he is the assistant commissioner for the FDA. The passage talks about numerous ways the FDA is using to ensure safe food however it seems like they didn't do the best job.

In the passage Dr.Acheson says “If we suspect anything, we try to fix it and prevent it from happening again." Apparently they didn’t do a good job fixing it. That quote bewildered me, how can u fix food? if its poisoned what does the FDA do? I’m guessing that instead of them throwing the poisoned or suspicious food they just try to take the poison out or try to "fix" it. The FDA is accountable for any American that passed away or got an illness from eating food that was already examined. Just like a doctor or vet you have to be careful of what u do and try to work in the most precise way possible because someone’s life can be at risk. About a year ago one of my friend's uncle got extremely sick after eating McDonalds. When her uncle came into the restaurant it has an A for inspection. After her uncle filed a report, they had to get another inspection just more thoroughly and the restaurant got a C. The FDA has been overlooking a variety of things can effect over a billion people. I believe the FDA is trying to make our food safe but I don’t agree that it’s ensuring us safe as Dr. David Acheson was implying.
