Research proposal (Blog entry #9)

Animal cruelty should be ceased.the government should support passing farm animal welfare laws, exposing consumers to how farm animals are typically mistreated, and working with retailers to improve farm animal welfare in their supply chains.Meat and dairy production in the United States has changed dramatically over the past 30 years. the assumptions of food coming from Small family farms have been replaced by huge livestock facilities, where animals suffer horribly, workers are mistreated, the environment is being destroyed, and where rural communities are falling apart. According to schlosser  factory work can be the most dangerous job.  One source used was the meatrix series (http://www.themeatrix.com). the matrix explained that not only the government but the FDA and other importers are lying to us. I dont know if we should blame them for our assumption of where our food should come from, but it should be obvious to them that what theyre doing is harmful to not only the animals but to the consumers. The factory farming industry strives to maximize output while minimizing costs—always at the animals’ expense. The giant corporations that run most factory farms have found that they can make more money by cramming animals into tiny spaces, even though many of the animals get sick and some die.when we think about where our food is coming from, we picture a pretty farm with people taking care of lovely and helpful animals. if you google a farm u see something that looks like the image above but instead they are little chambers that mistreat animals and inject them with artificial hormones. These animals will never raise their families, root around in the soil, build nests, or do anything that is natural and important to them. some difficulties  i can see my self experiences in my reseaxh paper is finding an direct response from the government.i wan a direct resonce from the government nt an interpretation

  1. I think that food-producing animals welfare is a very important issue because these animals finally end on our plates. I like that you would like to mention lack of people’s awareness of how animals are treated in farming facilities. For more sources you can see The New York Times website because they have some interesting articles about factory farming animals.
