Reflection Essay
When i started english 101 I thought I knew everything about writing and reading. I took english in high school but I didn't really understand certain vocabulary words. I got a 85% on my english regents so I figured I had a good idea of the concept. After taking Dr.Jason Smith I think I thought wrong. I needed a lot more practice than i thought. The idea of using blogger as a virtual way to joint minds of our classmates was new but very effective.I learned a lot in this class. Im definitely not the same person I was when i first came here; Mentally.
Blogger was effective because I learned how to use overcome writer's block by using the tutorials on the blog. I learned several ways to use correct grammar and vocabulary throughout an essay too. Blogger was also helpful because it made communication with classmates easier. if I had a question or a problem, I can simply ask a classmate or the professor through email or comments. would be expecting from us the following week. It was also beneficially to learn how to use a blog. After using blogger for something as important as
english, I wouldn't mind making a blog for something insignificant. I’ll probably make a blog of poetry or just photos I like. Using blogger was just a great way to effectively be on the same page as your classmates or professor and self educate yourself with the information given, id recommend it to any teacher.
During this class I learned a lot about the fast food industry and factory farming too. The government allows the food producers to do a lot of harmful things to our food without informing us. The book Fast food nations written by Eric Schlosser explains the many stratagems fast food Pioneers used to expand the industry to what it is today. Eric Schlosser explains the evil sale motives people used to brainwash us americans to increase their sales and profits. Although the fast food industry is make millions on us worldwide, the government should help decrease obesity and health problems. Not only the government but the FDA and other importers are lying to us too. I dont know if we should blame them for our assumption of where our food should come from,but it should be obvious to them that what they're doing is harmful not only to the animals but to the consumers.

Factory farmers cram thousands of animals into filthy, windowless sheds and confined to wire cages, gestation crates, barren dirt lots, and other cruel confinement systems. The animals are neglected attention and are treated so poorly just to increase profit. Im in college to be a veterinarian so I was so surprised when I found out the information. The food industry is getting away with alot and the government is letting them. However, the idea is that industries produce according to what the consumer buy so if we as the consumers stop buying the fast food or simply educate the people around us then this world would be a salubrious place.
Professor Jason smith’s English 101 class really opened my eyes with health. The government isn't going out of their way to help me stay healthy so its up to me to care about my well-being. I also learned about creating blogs and expressing myself through words. Im grateful that I took this class.
